Mysteries and facts about dreams

Sometimes the stories seem to be meaningful and are somewhat related to a previous experience or emotion. Often however, it is just a bunch of chaotic events rather unlikely to occur in reality and impossible to control.
The exception is lucid dreaming, in which a dreamer realizes that they are dreaming, and they are sometimes capable of changing the reality around him or her and controlling various aspects of the dream.
There are many theories on the source or reason of why
we dream, but
scientists
are still working on these issues, trying to find more
satisfying answers.
People were always interested in the meaning of dreams, and some have tried to interpret the dreams they had.
Dreams were often considered reflections of the subconscious, and spiritually as messages from God or predictions of the future.
Some
people believe that the human soul temporarily leaves its body during
the dream-state, wandering in other worlds and meeting other souls,
including those
of the dead.
There are no doubts
that dreams are a form of brain activity. Usually people dream
4 to 6
times per night. Most likely it happens during the REM stage of sleep
when
the brain is active, but it is not uncommon to dream in non-REM
sleep.
