good sleep hygiene.
- Lose weight- excessive weight can restrict your air passage and this can lead to snoring.
- Avoid smoking and drinking alcohol in general, but especially before sleep. Alcohol will relax your body what can lead to snoring.
- Be active, exercise to increase your muscle tone.
- Sleeping on your side may help to open the airway.
- Do not take sedatives - they can suppress breathing and relax you what promotes snoring.
- Clear your nasal passages - use a hot steam vaporizer or take a hot shower just before bed. This will assist you in clearing your nasal passages and allow you to breath better. This will lessen the severity of your snoring.
- Exercise throat muscle – a yawning and stretching motion may help some people.
